Hickory
Creek Nature Trail
The Nature Trail at
Hickory Creek Elementary was funded by a $40,000.00 Goals 2000 Grant
that was wrote by Hickory Creek librarian Patty Cantrell. She mapped out
the trail, worded all the identification sites, and oversaw the work
done on the trail. The trail measures almost a half mile (.52). Patti
and her husband have contributed many hours and hard work on the nature
trail for students and faculty at Hickory Creek Elementary. The Nature
Trail at Hickory Creek has been a great asset to the students and
faculty. Many teachers and classrooms walk this trail everyday if
weather permits. The amphitheater is a great place for teachers to take
their classrooms for lessons or just to take a break to take in the
beautiful scenery and sounds of nature. However, only Hickory Creek
Elementary faculty, staff, and students are allowed to use the Nature
Trail. The same school rules for Hickory Creek Elementary apply to the
Nature Trail.
